Amanda Ropp Blystone is an of counsel member of Broyles Kight & Ricafort, P.C. Amanda practiced at BKR until 2005, and returned to the firm in 2009 after spending four years as a family law litigator at Baker & Daniels.
Amanda has practiced family law almost exclusively since her admission to the Indiana Bar in 2001, and has litigated in counties throughout the State of Indiana. She has guided numerous families through complicated family law issues in the Indianapolis area, including high-conflict custody proceedings, international custody disputes, complex marital estate divisions, child support disputes, paternity matters, and child abuse/neglect (CHINS) proceedings. She also has experience handling adoption proceedings (including a foster parent, private placement, step-parent, and same-sex adoptions), grandparent visitation issues, protective orders, premarital agreements , cohabitation agreements, and estate planning.
As an experienced Indianapolis divorce attorney Amanda has handled the issues related to the valuation of businesses and professional practices for divorce purposes extensively and has established relationships with the most well-regarded valuation professionals in the state. Amanda also has experience pursuing appeals for her family law clients and is well-versed in all aspects of the appellate process.
Amanda’s practice philosophy is to represent her clients in a way which vigorously protects their interests while doing everything possible to minimize the emotional toll and financial hardship which often comes with divorce family law legal matters. As a mother of three, Amanda is especially sensitive to conducting family law litigation in a way which preserves the safety and well-being of children.
Amanda carries this philosophy into her work as a parenting coordinator and guardian ad litem as well. Amanda is frequently appointed, by agreement and by court order, to assist families in high-conflict cases as a parenting coordinator or private guardian ad litem . Amanda particularly enjoys this aspect of her practice, as it allows her to focus on reducing conflict between parents and bringing much-needed stability to families in transition during and after their divorce.
Amanda also is an Indiana Certified Family Law Specialist (as certified by the Family Law Certification Board), and Domestic Relations Mediator. She has assisted in bringing countless cases to resolution through the mediation process (both as mediator and attorney representative), and believes strongly in the value of the mediation process.
