From the Office:

Melissa Avery was elected Secretary of the American Bar Association Family Law Section at the annual meeting in Chicago.  She will serve a one year term and then automatically become Vice Chair, Chair Elect and Chair over the next 3 years.  Melissa also received an award for Outstanding Contribution to the Family Law Section for her work Chairing the Strategic Planning Committee and Co-Chairing the Sponsorship Committee.

On October 9, 2015, the Indianapolis Bar Foundation will host its annual Evening Under the Stars gala event at the Crane Bay. The IBF supports efforts to make legal services available to Hoosiers who could not otherwise afford them, and Evening Under the Stars is the Foundation’s biggest single fundraising event of the year, with both a silent and live auction.  BKR’s Erin Durnell is co-chairing the event for the second year in a row, and Jesse Pace serves as a committee member. BKR supports the efforts of the IBF, and is serving as a Patron Sponsor at the gala, along with donating a basket to the silent auction. Individual attorneys at BKR are also making individual donations to the live and silent auctions. More information about the Indianapolis Bar Foundation’s efforts can be found at https://www.indybar.org/about/bar-foundation/.

Melanie Reichert will be presenting at the AFCC Indiana annual meeting in Bloomington, IN on September 25th.

Melissa Avery will be attending the American Bar Association Section Officers Conference in Chicago September 17-18 as the Secretary of the Family Law Section.

Nissa Ricafort will be attending the Conference of Metropolitan Bar Associations in South Carolina September 17-19, as part of her duties as the First Vice President for the Indianapolis Bar Association.

On a Personal Note:
