On January 29th, the Indianapolis Bar Association and Indianapolis Bar Foundation will host the 2015 Installation Luncheon, welcoming the incoming presidents and board of directors. Nissa Ricafort, first vice-president; Melanie Reichert and Erin Durnell, board members, will be in attendance.
Hamilton County Bar Association is sponsoring the 2015 Mock Trial Competition, with Jesse Pace serving as the attorney assistant for Sheridan High School. Attorney volunteers advise the teams from both Sheridan HS and Noblesville HS. (Read more)
The Indiana General Assembly has two bills that could affect family law. Senate Bill 18 looks into grandparent and great-grandparent visitation; Senate Bill 109 visits the elimination of college expense orders, once the child reaches 19 years of age. Paws and Think was recognized on January 12th, by Michael McQuillen, Minority Leader for the Indianapolis City County Council, with a Special Resolution award. He visited Paws and Think during their Paws to Read program at Crestview Elementary and learned more about the program.
